Best and Worst of the 2014 Grammys

Katy Perry in Valentino Haute Couture on the 2014 Grammy Red Carpet

Pop Icon, Katy Perry used to be known for her colorful wigs and girly costumes, but she has since elevated her style and looks amazing. Katy is revamping her image from cutesy california girl into a more mature musician while maintaining some of that quirky fun. She looks absolutely breathtaking in this Valentino gown hot of the haute coutureĀ spring-summer 2014 runway. The color palette and silhouette are more grown up, but the embellished music notes gives it a funky and whimsical punch. This dress, like all haute couture garments, is a work of art. The sheerness is great because it is so ethereal and allows you to see the underpinnings and work inside of the dress. I love the wisps of chiffon and the way it floats down the red carpet. I also love that Katy chose to keep her makeup raw (mimicking the dress) and how she used her big braided bun as an accessory of its own. This was a perfect grammy look, adventurous, chic, fun, and unique for days.

Paris Hilton in House of Milani on the 2014 Grammy Red Carpet

My worst for the 2014 Grammy awards is Paris Hilton in House of Milani. This glittery mess makes her look like part 80’s bride, part figure skater, and her hair and the train make her look like a horse. The dress is boring and too covered up in the front and too busy and open in the back. Hilton’s sun kissed skin is not meant for this snow white color. I cannot believe that Paris Hilton got invited to the Grammys (because she does absolutely nothing) and she dares to show up like this. Paris, to be completely honest…I’m not sure you can do better.
