On Friday, I traveled down to the glorious High Line Hotel to view the A Moi collection. The show was held in a massive, old world room decorated with elegant chandeliers and an intricate ceiling. The only thing more beautiful than the venue was the clothes. Designer, Alejandra Alonso named Spring’s collection Reflections because she took inspiration from her European roots; especially family getaways to Biarritz, France. The color palette of rich blue and crisp white, reflects the chicness of the French coast. The subtle, yet impactful pops of yellow and peach represent Alonso’s childhood in Spain. This season, A Moi held a very prim and elegant turned modern and playful vibe. I adored the new, iridescent leather and the retro footwear was a gorgeous highlight. Alonso’s use of different textures such as knits, sheer chiffon, oil slick leather, and Italian cotton made her relaxed shapes come to life. I am head over fabulous heels with A Moi, I believe this star collection could be Alejandra Alonso’s ticket to the big leagues.
