For its 10th anniversary, Marchesa designers, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig brought their sought-after label home to London. A decade ago, the dynamic duo graduated from Chelsea College of Art and Design and opened a small studio on Archer Street. They have gone from a lowly label based in a bad neighborhood to an influential mega-brand showing at the historic Whitehall. For Spring 2015, Marchesa presented a rock-n’-roll bohemian dream. I adored the intricate lace and embroidery that helped to create Chapman and Craig’s signature twisted romanticism. Slinky, gold gowns and big, tulle confections would normally seem like imposing ensembles, but with Marchesa’s expertise, glided down the runway with ease. Elegant and proper, yet free-spirited, a true representation of the English people. This collection was a beautiful culmination of 10 years of hard work. Bravo.
