Balenciaga’s Spring/Summer 2015 Ad Campaign
It’s been quite a week for budget conscious shoppers with a craving for luxury goodies. On Thursday, there was a glitch in Balenciaga’s e-commerce system, which caused their coveted bags, that retail for around $2,000, to be listed for under $200. Although the glitch lasted for a mere 45 minutes, fashionistas around the world were able to quickly snatch up the outrageously marked-down accessories. It didn’t take long for mass hysteria to ensue as many thought the bag of their dreams was finally within reach. Unfortunately, once Balenciaga started canceling orders, costumers were enraged that the label was not honoring their mistake. Some went as far as to trash Balenciaga on Twitter. What seemed like the purchase of a lifetime eventually turned into a let down of epic proportions. The lesson to be learned from all of this chaos? Never come between a girl and her designer obsessions.
Hermes’ 24 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré Flagship Store in Paris
Just two days later, Hermes reported a robbery at one of their packaging facilities in Le Plessis-Bouchard, France. The thieves made off with 500 bags worth over $1 million combined. The group of six individuals allegedly forced one of the managers to load two trucks with the merchandise and then sped off. These criminals of fashion have not been caught yet, but be on the look out for suspicious looking crocodile Birkins floating around the internet.
