In 2015, Alessandro Michelle emerged as fashion’s golden boy because everything he touched somehow turned into the latest must-have item. The former unknown, who replaced Frida Giannini as creative director of Gucci, revamped the house’s signatures, gave it a quirky-cool aesthetic, and put Italy’s most famed label back on the cutting edge.

After the Metropolitan Museum of Art closes its main fashion exhibition of the year, it opens one of a more low-key status that can easily be put together. Who would have thought that the pick of 2015, a showcase of French socialite, Jacqueline de Ribes’ personal collection, would be twice as fabulous and insightful than the Met’s Chinese themed extravaganza. Jacqueline De Ribe’s: The Art of Style delves deep into the world of one of fashion’s greatest muses/designers and gives us a glimpse at her extraordinary creative mind. From a magnificent rainbow Dior gown by Gianfranco Ferré to a slinky cream Valentino number to a regal tangerine concoction of Ribes’ own design, this exhibit translates what it means to have elegance, and above all else, true style.

Chicest Squad:

Taylor Swift may have dominated the music industry in 2015, but her tight-knit group of female role models took over the entire world. From the ever swoon-worthy Bad Blood video featuring besties like Cara Delevigne and Jessica Alba to an epic VMA red carpet appearance with Karlie Kloss and Selena Gomez, never before have this many girl bosses assembled to create a supportive unit- and it never looked so good.

Chicest Model Duo:

2015 saw the rise of supermodels Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner- so much so that their names were on the minds of almost every single designer, booking agent, and magazine editor in the world. While each is stunning on her own, we prefer them as a pair.

Chicest Ad Campaign:

For Celine’s Fall 2015 ad campaign, Phoebe Philo did something a little unusual: the creative director decided to have Joan Didion featured in the French house’s gorgeous spread, launching a new trend of using accomplished women as models. That one, fabulous picture, with a fabulous American author to match, proves fashion knows no age.

Chicest Celebrity:

This year, it-girl/actress, Sienna Miller became a role model for exquisitely dressed celebs. The former queen of boho streamlined her look- jumping from floppy hats and peasant skirts to structured dresses and shapely culottes. With the help of master stylist, Kate Young, Miller is more elegant than ever while maintaining her trend-setting edge.

Chicest Runway Moment:

What better way to announce an upcoming movie than with a runway debut at one of Paris Fashion Week’s hottest shows? This was exactly the thinking of Zoolander 2’s cast and crew because after the end of Valentino’s Fall/Winter 2015 collection, Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson strutted down the catwalk as their male model alter-egos. This dramatic stunt, like most, caused a huge stir on social media faster than you could say Blue Steal.
